The SIM7600E-H 4G HAT is a 4G/3G/2G communication and GNSS positioning module, which supports LTE CAT4 up to 150Mbps for downlink data transfer. it is pretty low power consumption.

You can connect this 4G module with computer to surf the Internet, or attach it onto Raspberry Pi to enable functions like 4G high speed connection, wireless communication, making telephone call, sending SMS, global positioning, etc.

Inbetriebnahme nicht so einfach ...
Aber wenn man es geschafft hat, funktioniert das Modul ausgezeichnet (für GPS habe ich derzeit keinen Bedarf).

Wichtig ist, dass ZUSÄTZLICH das USB-Kabel angeschlossen wird (aber NICHT USB to UART), damit man die entsprechenden Geräte bekommt, um DIREKT eine 4G/LTE-Verbindung aufzubauen. Parallel dazu kann man mit MINICOM (leider nicht standardmäßig beim Betriebssystem dabei) über /dev/ttyS0 auch auf SMS, etc. zugreifen bzw. einzelne Funktionen testen. Empfehlenswert ist jedenfalls das SIM7500_SIM7600 Command Manual V 1.07 (für die AT-Befehle) von SIMCom. Im Vergleich zu alten Modems (z.B. zur Einwahl ins Telefon) hat sich doch viel verändert.

Bei der Rückwärtskompatibilität mit PPP im 3G/UMTS-Netz bin ich mir nicht so sicher. Der pppd startet zwar, aber es fehlen die notwendigen IP-Adressen. Hier müsste man genauer nachschauen, wo das Problem liegt. Eine einfache Konfiguration mit Debian-Paketen wie network-manager, etc. für 4G/LTE scheint am fehlenden Erkennen des Geräts zu scheitern.

Langer Rede, kurzer Sinn: Für Anfänger*innen ist dieses Modul nur bedingt zu empfehlen. Aber mit etwas Erfahrung mit (Debian-)Linux sollte es zum Laufen zu bringen sein und dann erfüllt es seinen Zweck ...
